PUBLIC NOTICE of BID ANNOUNCEMENT

The Giddings Economic Development Corporation (EDC) (Texas) is now accepting bids for renovation of the property located at 235 W. Railroad Ave., Giddings, Texas 78942, otherwise known as the Freight Station - Transportation Museum. 

Bid Packets will be available online beginning Thursday, March 30, 2017 and can be downloaded from www.giddings.edc.com.   Bid/Documents and Specifications are on file at the office of the Giddings Economic Development Corporation at 924 East Austin Street, Giddings, TX 78942.    Electronic copies may be obtained at no charge by request at edcdirector@giddings.net   Information may be obtained by contacting Giddings Economic Development Corporation at 979-542-2067.

Bids will be accepted until 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 17, 2017 at the City of Giddings City Hall, 118 E. Richmond St., Giddings, Texas 78942. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 4 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2017 at said office.

Bids are invited for general contracting to provide oversight and implementation of interior and exterior repairs of the building as described in the specifications, including scraping, painting and repairing or replacing old wood.

The successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, age or national origin.

The Giddings EDC reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bid documents. Contract will be awarded to lowest responsible bidder.  Bids may be held by the Giddings EDC for a period not to exceed forty-five (45) days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidders’ qualifications prior to the contract award.

All qualified applicants shall receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. Bidders will be required to comply with the President’s Executive Order No. 11246, as amended by Executive Order 11375, and as supplemented in Department of Labor regulations 41 CFR Part 60.
