About GEDC
Board Members
The Giddings Economic Development Board is made up of seven directors, each of whom shall be appointed by the City Council. Each director must be a resident of Lee County and reside at a place that is within ten (10) miles of Giddings, Texas.
At least three directors shall be persons who are not employees, officers of the City, or members of the City Council.
The City Council shall appoint the Directors of the Corporation in accordance with the Texas Development Act of 1979, as amended.
The City Council shall consider an individual's experience, accomplishments, and educational background in appointing members to the Board to ensure that the interests and concerns of all segments of the community are considered.

Member: Brian Boudreaux Brian has served as the Giddings City Manager since September of 2009 and has been the City Manager of Dublin, Van Alstyne, and Mason. He has also served as Assistant City Manager of Lufkin. He is a former Marine and was a Lufkin Police Officer for 10+ years. Brian has a Master of Public Administration degree from Texas A&M University and a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. Brian also serves on the Chamber of Commerce Board. |

Member: Barbara Crocker Barbara grew up in Giddings, graduating from Giddings High School. Her professional experiences include 39 years in nursing, holding various positions to include Director of Nursing roles, nursing education, neonatal research and finally Worldwide Director of Occupational Health and Safety for Motorola.
After retirement Barbara returned to Giddings where they ranch and work with our daughter.

Member: Michael "John" Simmang, Jr. John is Executive Vice-President of Insurance Network of Texas. He is a native of Giddings and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Edward’s University. He has been on the Board of the Giddings EDC since July 2009 and served as President from 2009-2010. John is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters and is currently President of the Austin chapter, on the Board of the State Chapter, and on the Board of the State PAC. John is an Eagle Scout and an active member in the Knights of Columbus and Lions Club. |

Member: Joe Franks Joe has been resident of Giddings since 1972. He worked as a business manager for the Texas Youth Commission for 28 years before retiring in 2000. He currently serves as Vice Chair for the Giddings EDC. He is a former member of the Texas Corrections Association and the Texas Institute of Youth, serving as Treasurer for both agencies. Joe is the Treasurer for the Giddings Area C.A.R.E Center. |

Giddings EDC Director: Joyce M. Bise Joyce is a native of Giddings and has worked as Director of the Giddings Economic Development Corporation for the past seven years. She has 20+ years of experience in Economic Development. |

Meetings
The Giddings Economic Development Corporation meets on the second Monday of each month in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The meeting begins at 12:00 P.M.
